TeacherNotes is an app for iPhone and iPad designed to help music teachers manage their lesson handouts and share their materials in a convenient location. If you're looking for a simple and organized way to keep track of your studio, this app is for you.
Key features include:
Group Organization: Create groups to easily categorize and find your students, making it simple to manage multiple classes or ensembles.
Lesson Documentation and Scheduling: Document each lesson with notes and schedule upcoming sessions. All your observations and lesson plans are kept in one place for reference.
PDF Storage and Sharing: Store sheet music, exercises, and other teaching handouts as PDFs directly in the app, then share them with your students whenever needed.
Audio Recording: Record yourself playing, demonstrating techniques, or capture entire lessons directly from your iPhone or iPad. These recordings are stored on your device and can be easily shared with your students as well.

With TeacherNotes, I value your privacy and am committed to ensuring your personal data remains secure. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the app.
1. Data Collection
TeacherNotes does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or information to external servers.
All information—such as your student contacts, groups, lesson notes, lesson schedules, PDF files, and audio recordings—is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
SwiftData securely stores this information in a private database that only you and the app can access. I have no access to this data and do not use any external servers to process or store it.
2. Use of Data
All data you create or manage within TeacherNotes is for your personal use only.
Since I do not collect, access, or share your data, you remain in full control of your information at all times.
Student Contacts: Contact information you manually enter into the app is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. I do not access or collect any contact information.
Groups: Your organization of students into groups is saved locally for your convenience.
Lesson Documentation and Scheduling: All lesson notes, schedules, and observations are securely stored locally on your device.
PDF Storage: Any PDF files you add to the app are saved locally so you can easily access and share them with your students.
Audio Recordings: Any recordings you create within the app (such as lessons or demonstrations) are stored locally on your device. I do not access, share, or transmit any of these recordings.
3. Third-Party Services
TeacherNotes does not use or integrate with any third-party services that collect, share, or track user data.
All features and functionality operate entirely on your device.
4. Access to Files, Audio, and Device Features
TeacherNotes may request permission to access your device's file picker or document browser so you can import PDF files for storage and sharing.
The app may request permission to access your device's microphone and camera to record audio or video lessons.
All imported files and recordings are stored locally on your device within the app's private storage area. I do not collect, transmit, or share any files or recordings you create or import. They remain private and under your control at all times.
5. Sharing Features
TeacherNotes allows you to share PDFs and audio recordings with your student contacts directly from the app.
When you choose to share content, you control what is shared and with whom. Sharing happens through your device's native sharing capabilities (such as email, messaging, or other apps you have installed).
I do not facilitate, monitor, or have access to any content you choose to share.
6. Data Security
Because all data is stored locally on your device, I recommend using your device's built-in security features (such as a passcode or biometric authentication) to help protect your information.
TeacherNotes does not have access to your device's contents or security settings.
7. Disclaimer
TeacherNotes is designed to provide a convenient and organized location for storing and sharing your teaching materials with your students. It is intended as a supportive tool for managing student contacts, organizing lesson information, and facilitating communication with students.
